Covid Protocol Updates:
You are no longer required to complete the Covid form. Masks are also no longer required but will be at your discretion. If you are not ready, it's ok, I have no problem continuing to wear one. I will still be wearing a mask for certain treatments where I am leaning over you for longer periods of time. All other cleaning and hygiene protocols will remain in place.
As always, if you are feeling unwell with ANY cold, flu or covid symptoms, please let me know so that we can reschedule your appointment.
If you have any questions please contact Marlo at the Spa. Thank you!

Re: Stage 3 of the BC Restart Plan
All cleaning and sterilization protocols remain in place to help the spread of any communicable disease. At this time even if you are double vaccinated, masks are still required in the spa until further notice. I feel this is the best option for myself, my family and all clients given the close proximity I work in with everyone. If you have any questions, please contact the spa.
RULES & PROTOCOLS FOR CLIENTS:
- Please fill out the new "Wellness Screening Form" that is attached to your conformation of appointment email before arriving for your appointment. if you are having difficulties with the online system, please contact the spa.
- Please reschedule your appointment if you, or someone in your household has been sick with a cold, flu or had any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
- Masks & proper hand hygiene are still required at this time and will be re-evaluated at Stage 4 of the BC Restart Plan (for facial & waxing clients - I will instruct you when it is safe to remove your mask).
- Please no food or beverages in the spa.
- Please read your appointment reminder emails so you are aware of any new changes before arriving.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Below are lists of my Safety Plan on what I have done to safely reopen the spa and also what is required from all of my clients. Alot of work and preparations have been made to comply with the protocols from the Provincial Health Officer, WorkSafe BC and Island Health. Please understand, these are the new protocols that I have to adhere to and they will remain in place until the PHO determines they are not necessary anymore. Please also keep in mind things could still change as our situation in BC changes.
Please don't be intimidated by this information and don't worry about memorizing it. There are many changes that we all need to make to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy. We will discuss it again either before your appointment.
WHAT I AM DOING FOR SAFETY & TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19:
In preparation for re-opening, I have completed the following Safety Certifications. These are in addition to my current Esthetics Training and Certifications.
- Beauty Safe Level I: General Trade Practices
- Beauty Safe Level II: Esthetics
- COVID-19 Clinical Safety Course
BeautySafe is an online certification program promoting protocols of infection control, safe cleaning, sterilization and chemical practices. This is a self-study program designed in response to the public's concern, relative to continually surfacing viral and bacterial strains and the Cosmetology Industry's ongoing need for information and awareness about the best practices and their legal responsibilities when providing personal services to protect themselves and their clients. BeautySafe not only incorporates standards recognized across Canada encouraging all Hairstylists, Barbers, Estheticians, Make-Up Artists, Nail Technicians, Cosmetic Tattoo Artists, MicroBlading Technicians, EyeLash Extension Technicians and Tattoo Artists to be certified and maintain these high standards to reduce the spread of bacterial infections and communicable diseases like HIV and Hepatitis B and C.
- I have deep cleaned the spa and purchased face shields, masks, extra virucide and disposable items for no cross contamination and complete sterilization.
- I will be greeting clients respecting the 2-meter guideline and will not engage in any physical contact such as hugging, handshaking or fist bumping unless a certain treatment requires me to come in close contact. All measures will be taken to ensure everyone’s safety such as gloves, masks and/or face shields being worn.
- I will be wearing a mask at ALL times during your treatments as well as wearing a face shield and/or eye protection when working up close to your face.
- As I have worked hard to create a more environmentally friendly spa, the thought of disposable masks all the time has been concerning. I have researched and found washable, reusable masks that contain copper. Copper infused Tencel have ways of eradicating viruses and bacteria. The Copper infused TENCEL or Cotton/Poly blend fabric on the masks have been proven to eradicate 99% MRSA, Staphococcus Aureus and Klebsiella Pneumoniae. The Coronavirus is inactivated within hours of coming into contact with Copper alloy surfaces. More information about these masks can be found at https://www.envypillow.com/shop/envy-copper-face-mask/ . These masks will be available for clients to use during their treatments and also available for purchase at the spa.
- All linens, towels, bedding etc are always fresh for every client. Soiled and used linens are removed at the end of each appointment and laundered in hot water no less than 65 degrees celsius daily.
- All treatment areas and furniture are disinfected after every client. All high touch surface areas in the spa, entrance and bathroom are disinfected after every client with PreEmpt RTU – surface cleaner and disinfectant effective as virucidal, bactericide, fungicidal, tuberculocidal, and broad spectrum sanitizing.
- All single use and non cleanable, disinfectable, sterilizable items/materials are disposed of after every client (nail files, cotton pads, wooden sticks, gloves, tissues, disposable masks)
- All non submergible or sterilizable items/tools are disinfected after every client with PreEmpt RTU – PreEmpt RTU is a surface cleaner and disinfectant effective as virucidal, bactericide, fungicidal, tuberculocidal, and broad spectrum sanitizing (pedicure bowl, facial mask brushes, lash lifting rods, hot towel warmer, ultrasonic spatula, facial steamer)
- All metal implements are washed in warm water with soap and a scrub brush, rinsed, dried and then sterilized after very client with PreEmpt CS20 – PREempt CS20 is a sterilant and high level disinfectant for reprocessing heat sensitive semi-critical and critical devices for which heat sterilization is not suitable or available (pedicure/manicure tools, tweezers, comedone extractors)
- A complete clean/disinfection of all high touch surface areas, treatment areas, retail area, floors etc will be completed at the end of each day in the spa room, entrance and bathroom using PreEmpt RTU. More information regarding these disinfectants can be found at https://www.viroxprobeauty.ca/
- Hand washing and sanitizing before and after each treatment including in between each different treatment on the same client. Gloves worn for every treatment.
- Cancellation fees due to illness will not apply at this time. However, as always, if you need to cancel or change your appointment 24-48 hrs notice is appreciated.
- I will be updating protocols as more information becomes available from WorkSafe BC and the Provincial Health Officer.

- Please leave all extra coats, sweaters etc in your vehicle. A small, clean, disinfected bin will be provided for the few items you need to bring in such as - your purse, keys and/or cell phone.
- You will be required to wear a mask at ALL TIMES in the spa. I will provide a fresh disposable mask if you do not have one. When using your own mask – please make sure it is clean, effective and suitable enough that you are not exposing me to your respiratory droplets and that it is not slipping off and exposing your nose or mouth.
- Please use the sanitation station outside before entering my home and spa to sanitize your hands and put on your mask.
- Once inside, you will be directed to the washroom to wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. You will also need to wash/sanitize your hands after your treatment – which should be done to safely and hygienically remove your mask.
- Facial waxing clients, your mask will be removed for your lip, chin or cheek service but replaced as soon as it’s completed. Please also refrain from talking during this time. ***Please understand this may also change as information becomes available. The PHO may deem that lip, chin and cheek waxing is not safe at this time due to removal of the mask.***
- Only guests who have a scheduled appointment or who are making a purchase are allowed in the spa at this time. No additional people (including children) will be permitted while you are receiving your treatment. *Children under 16 receiving a service may have 1 parent/guardian in the treatment room. The parent/guardian must wear a mask & answer all pre-screening questions.
- Payment by contactless methods is preferred – e-transfer, debit tap and credit card. Receipts will be by email or text only. Rebooking of appointments can be done by me or through the online booking.
- Product will be on display for viewing only! As touching and smelling of products will not be permitted, I will give you a sampler or bring a product to you and I will dispense it for you.
- Curb-side pickup will still be available for retail purchases. Order through text or email and you will be notified when you order is available for pickup via email or text. Just give me a time when you arrive, and I will have it available in the lantern outside the spa for you.
- No food or beverages will be allowed in the spa – I am not able to offer tea/water/coffee during any service.
- There will be no books, magazines, pamphlets etc allowed to be displayed.
- Please read your emails and/or appointment confirmation emails so you are aware of any new changes before arriving. I will also be posting any new information on my website and Facebook page as it becomes available.
Thank you for your cooperation in supporting these protocols and guidelines. Unfortunately, these methods will need to be repeated for all treatments until the PHO determine they are no longer necessary. It has really been a very challenging time for all of us. I love what I do and I want your experience to be safe, comforting and relaxing when you are here. Please let me know if any questions or concerns regarding ANYTHING in the guidelines. As we know more, we can make adjustments.
With kindness and appreciation,
